Working Part Time is Helping Me to Get Through School

My career goal is to become a chef. I had wanted to go to cooking school for a long time, but that was impossible when I worked full time. So, I found a job working only part time doing post tenancy cleaning in Singapore for a business that specializes in cleaning. It’s really nice because it is a low-key job. I work for them in the morning, and in the afternoon and evening, I head to the local cooking school for my classes. It is an easy way to keep bringing in money while I work on graduating.

There is no one in my family who can help to pay my way through school. I live at home with my parents, but they have a lot of things they need to do with when it comes to bills and keeping food on the table. I don’t want to have those same types of struggles when I am their age. It seems like a hard way to get through life. They always seem so stressed out, and it hurts me to see them feeling that way. When I first told my parents I was going to school, I could see they they were both very proud of me. Now they tell all their friends that I will be a famous chef one day.

One of the things I like best about the school I go to is learning how to make scrumptious desserts. I know that there are chefs who specialize in making desserts. I am thinking of making that my specialty as well. It would be nice to work for a really ritzy restaurant or hotel and have my name be on the tip of all the customer’s lips as the person who makes wonderful foods that make people come back to eat them again and again.
